Article from Hérault Tribune : "Saint-Aunès : Viaposte moves into the former Orchestra logistics site"
Up to 400 logistics agents and handlers
In Saint-Aunès, Viaposte will employ around one hundred employees - 20% internal mobility and 80% temporary workers at the start - and will have up to 400 employees at peak times. Permanent recruitment of handlers and sorters is planned, in proportions yet to be defined.
With the development of e-commerce, "the parcel and shipping business is growing by 10% per year, a trend that is expected to continue until 2030. We therefore need new logistics tools, close to the motorways" explains Daniel Henin. The search for real estate has been fastidious. "Between Béziers and Montpellier, the former Orchestra building was the only one available that met our search criteria”. Viaposte rents this warehouse (owner: P3). The parcels will be processed manually.
A site manager is currently being recruited. Viaposte has 73 locations in France and employs 2,500 people.
Up to 200,000 parcels handled on this 32,000 m2 platform
"About 120,000 parcels will be processed in groupage/deconsolidation, on average every day, and up to 200 000 in November-December, on behalf of Colissimo" says Daniel Henin, Director of Parcel Operations. Operational from 20 September, the 32 000 m2 platform will serve Hérault, Aude and Pyrénées-Orientales. These three departments were previously served from the platforms in Cavaillon (Vaucluse) and Toulouse.
