ELEVEN Australia gets the answer to their dreams
Transport and warehousing operations are at the heart of ELEVEN Australia's business. As a global manufacturer of hair and body care products, the company has very specific logistics requirements. With the help of Transport Rådgiverne, it has met them all. Yes, all of them !
Dissatisfied customers, product waste, lack of follow-up, frustration among its own employees - all symptoms that ELEVEN Australia's logistics business needed a complete overhaul.
That's why Jan Sommer, Operations Manager at ELEVEN Australia, contacted Transport Rådgiverne. An employee knew Transport Rådgiverne from a previous job, and when Jan Sommer asked his network, his impression was confirmed: there was the expertise he was looking for.
Now that the new logistics structure is up and running, Jan Sommer doesn't hesitate to draw conclusions:
“In 20 years, I've never seen a result like this. We were very precise about what we wanted, and we got everything. It's almost unheard of. Transport Rådgiverne took us by the hand right to the end. They really put time and effort into the project. They helped us collect all the data we needed to get an accurate quote. They brought all the major logistics companies into the picture, and were skilful negotiators. Transport Rådgiverne also listened and understood us. In the end, we came to a perfect agreement, resulting in satisfied customers, happy employees and significant savings. In fact, it's a bit of a fairy tale,” he says.
ELEVEN Australia is a young brand with a focus on hair and body care. Since its inception in 2011, the brand has grown into an award-winning range of 40 products for every taste. Today, ELEVEN Australia is present in 32 countries, produces on three continents and generates sales of around 50 million euros a year.
New high-performance central warehouse
The project began with a focus on performance. Basic elements such as the location of the company's central warehouse in Europe, inventory management, traceability and reporting had to be taken care of. In addition to the tender itself, Transport Rådgiverne spent many hours on a centre-of-gravity analysis, which resulted in the relocation of the central warehouse from the Netherlands to France.
“First of all, ELEVEN Australia met a dedicated partner who started the dialogue in a very positive way. If there was anything they couldn't do immediately, it was resolved. In addition, Viaposte has experience in beauty products and understands, for example, the need for a clean product.”
“I also learned that they manage to retain their employees for many years. This is a factor of stability. Today, they also boast a 99% performance rate! This allows us to have a minimum of complaints and saves us a considerable workload,” emphasizes ELEVEN Australia's Global COO.
ELEVEN Australia has moved its central warehouse from the Netherlands to France following an analysis of Transport Rådgiverne's centre of gravity.
Priority customer for sea freight
Sea freight from Asia has become an increasingly important challenge in recent years. Prices are volatile, shipping is south of Africa and, as a customer, you don't know where you stand. Will the goods leave this week or in three weeks' time? Needless to say, this was a difficult situation for ELEVEN Australia.
“Transport Rådgiverne managed to consolidate our goods so that we became a priority customer. This means that the carrier allocates us space and we benefit from shorter, more stable transport times,” explains Jan Sommer.
ELEVEN Australia also received index-based pricing, guaranteeing competitive ocean freight rates throughout the contract period.
No Cure, No Pay - something to live by
Transport Rådgiverne operates according to the No Cure, No Pay concept, and if Jan Sommer had any doubts beforehand, he’s now convinced.
“If you have this promise, you have to be skilled at doing good business, and I have to say they've lived up to it. They're simply very experienced. They know the market standards and offer us very good contracts. What's more, we can terminate contracts with reasonable notice if, contrary to expectations, the quality changes.”
An integrated warranty
ELEVEN Australia also has a 2-year service agreement, which means that Transport Rådgiverne carries out invoice checks - guaranteeing that prices and conditions are met.
“What started out as a performance project has come full circle. At the same time, it has saved us double-digit percentages on operating costs, for both warehousing operations and transport. And we can see that it's working perfectly. So I couldn't be more satisfied, and I'm happy to recommend them wholeheartedly - without hesitation”, concludes Jan Sommer.
He adds that ELEVEN Australia's project in Europe is set to open a new chapter - also with Transport Rådgiverne - by focusing on North America.
