Supplier Accountant - Testimonial of the month

In February, it was Kevin's turn, a Supplier Accountant at Viaposte, to present his job.

What is a Supplier Accountant?

Having joined Viaposte in 2017, Kevin explains, "My job as a Supplier Accountant is to process invoices, from receipt to payment.”

At Viaposte, the Supplier Accountant also manages the monthly closing, employee expense reports and the accounting of industrial investments.

In contrast to the general accountant, the Supplier Accountant supervises all the financial operations of the company, and he/she is mainly concerned with the purchase of "raw materials".

Within Viaposte, Kevin has relationships with a multitude of departments, including occasional purchases or, as he mentions, employee expense reports.

The tasks of the Supplier Accountant

Within the accounting department, the Supplier Accountant concentrates on all the company's purchases, the payment of all kinds of invoices related to current expenses (electricity, water, paper, etc.) but also on industrial purchases.

Being a Supplier Accountant means having excellent rigour, a good sense of organisation and the ability to manage priorities.

At Viaposte, Kevin works with the other departments of the company and deals with various issues depending on the subject.

"I chose to specialise in accounting during my studies because of the diversity of the tasks on offer and the different possible specialisations," says Kevin, an asset he finds in his day-to-day job.

What studies should I do to become a Supplier Accountant?

The courses to become a Supplier Accountant are varied. Generally requiring a BAC+2/3 level, a BAC+5 level may be required in some companies.
