"This partnership reflects the general interests of La Poste, in this case promoting the pluralism of information and ensuring access to press titles throughout the territory, for all readers: this is the dual objective of the distribution and transport of the press mission entrusted to La Poste by the State”, Philippe Wahl, CEO of the La Poste Group, stated.

Distribution of 520,000 newspapers

During the Semaine de la presse et des médias dans l’école® [Press and Media Week in Schools], which will take place from 19th to 24th March, La Poste will distribute 520,000 newspapers and magazines free-of-charge to nearly 3,350,000 students, as part of a partnership renewed for the 20th  consecutive year.

La Poste has renewed its partnership with Viaposte's logistics expertise

La Poste has renewed its partnership with the Semaine de la presse et des médias dans l’école® to distribute newspapers and magazines to 15,000 schools every year, contributing to student education in the realms of media and the news.

For this 2018 edition, the proposed theme will be "Where does info come from?". Each school will place its own order for newspapers and magazines. Nearly 44,000 "press packages" have already been assembled on one of the French platforms of Viaposte, the logistics and transport subsidiary of La Poste, which has a long-standing expertise in manual and mechanised sorting of the press. The press packages will then be distributed to the various schools by postal staff as part of their daily rounds. A total of 520,000 copies of newspapers and magazines donated by the event's partner news publishers will be distributed free-of-charge by La Poste.

This partnership is an extension of La Poste's public service mission, which provides press publishers with preferential postal rates.
