The WCS SpeedParcel d'Actemium installed at several Viaposte logistics sites

Started in 2003, the implementation of Actemium Lyon Logistics' WCS SpeedParcel on 15 Colissimo platforms continues this year. The tool has also been installed on several of Viaposte’s sites, a subsidiary of the La Poste Group. The partnership between La Poste and Actemium Lyon Logistics has been ongoing for more than fifteen years.

Automated solutions for logistics

It was in 2003 that the specialist in automated solutions for logistics installed its WCS SpeedParcel on one of Colissimo’s parcel platforms, parcels BU of the La Poste Group, in Val-de-Reuil in the Eure region.

The courier specialist then decided to implement Actemium Lyon Logistics' WCS on all of its sites with the aim of harmonizing its offering.

The 14 other Colissimo platforms were gradually equipped with the tool between 2004 and 2019, without ever stopping production. The implementation of the software, which manages the entire mechanized and automated part of the warehouse, and exchanges information with the customer's information system while controlling production (throughput, rejection rate, reporting, labelling...), offers some Colissimo’s hubs productivity gains of up to 13% and a reduction in the rejection rate of around 2%. Faced with these good results, La Poste has once again asked Actemium Lyon Logistics to equip a site in Roissy (95) in 2020, as well as three new Colissimo platforms programmed as part of Colissimo's parcel processing network Logistics and Industrial Overhaul Master Plan.

At its Cavaillon platform (84), Viaposte processes parcels on behalf of Colissimo. So they naturally turned to a WCS adapted to their information system and their production process for two sorters. We then accompanied them on a new type of flow, imported small parcels (PPI)

Viaposte also equipped with WCS

In the same vein, the group also enlisted the services of Actemium Lyon Logistics for its subsidiary Viaposte, which implemented the software on one of its sites in 2016: "At its Cavaillon platform (84), Viaposte processes parcels on behalf of Colissimo. So they naturally turned to a WCS adapted to their information system and their production process for two sorters. We then accompanied them on a new type of flow, imported small parcels (PPI)," explains Nicolas Jaffeux, Head of Courier and Postal Activity at Actemium Lyon Logistics

Integration of WCS on three Viaposte sorters and two more to come

A year later, SpeedParcel was integrated into three new PPI sorters in Saint-Thibault des Vignes (77) and Lesquin (59) and is expected to be installed at two new sites in Montpellier (34) and Bordeaux (33) in 2019. The WCS will also soon be deployed for Viaposte sorters delivering parcels in the last kilometre phase in Poissy (78), Garonor (93) and Lievin (62) in 2020.

The tool is also expected to be enriched with new features to manage the sorting of international parcels in the future. It will also be able to interface with autonomous vehicles and will be able to offer image-taking with data inlay. Actemium Lyon Logistics is continuing its collaboration with Colissimo and Viaposte by developing a software development project with them for smaller distribution agencies.
